aXXo is the Internet alias of an individual[1][2] allegedly harassed by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for copyright infringement. aXXo became popular for converting commercial DVD movies into media files that are then uploaded on the Internet for free download.[3] The resulting files are easily distributed via the Internet and can be viewed on a personal computer.
